Time-Dependent Properties of Ultrahigh-Performance Concrete: Compressive Creep and Shrinkage

Ultrahigh-performance concrete (UHPC) is a new class of concrete, differentiated from conventional by clear distinctions in its material behaviors. Understanding and managing time-dependent properties necessary for the appropriate use any concrete-like material. This study investigated suite commercially available UHPC-class materials, with goal being to characterize behaviors then propose predictive performance models. To achieve this study, compressive creep shrinkage experiments encompassing different environmental conditions were completed. The objectives research as follows: (1) quantify behavior materials; (2) assess effects strength, maturity, loading age on UHPC develop equations; (3) investigate unrestrained (4) evaluate environments, including low-humidity high-humidity sealed conditions, materials (5) determine coefficient thermal expansion (CTE) at ages.
